Darmstadt Summer Course

Borg attended individual and group composition masterclasses with Isabel Mundry (Ernst von Siemens Composers’ Prize winner) and Du Yun (Pulitzer Prize for Music winner). He was also a passive participant in sessions with Dai Fujikura, Chaya Czernowin, Sarah Nemtsov and Clara Iannotta. The world premiere of his duet for double-bell trumpet and bass trombone was performed on 16/08/2023. This duet was written while in Darmstadt as part of the brass group’s collaboration with composers. Performed by Jakob Grimm (bass trombone) and Christophe Rostang (trumpet). The work was presented, and the process of composition discussed during an Open Space session organised by the brass group.
