Inspiring Talent, Transforming Lives.

WHERE TALENT MEETS OPPORTUNITY

The BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation was established on 25 October 2013 by the Bank of Valletta in partnership with world-renowned Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja. As a registered not-for-profit charity under Malta’s Voluntary Organisations Act, the Foundation operates with a clear mission: to provide vital support and assistance to two distinct groups—*exceptionally talented youth* in the performing and visual arts, and *vulnerable young persons* facing challenging social circumstances.

Under the guidance of an independent Board of Administrators, the Foundation is committed to offering *financial assistance* and *encouragement* to gifted young individuals, allowing them to fully develop their artistic talents and achieve their highest potential. Through mentorship, grants, and scholarships, the Foundation plays a pivotal role in nurturing the next generation of artists in Malta.

Equally important is the Foundation's dedication to supporting *young persons from difficult social backgrounds*, especially those whose needs fall outside the scope of existing social welfare programs. By addressing these gaps, the Foundation strives to create opportunities for vulnerable young persons to access a better future, providing them with the care and resources they need to overcome their circumstances.

With a focus on fostering talent and empowering disadvantaged youth, the BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity, ensuring that both *artistic promise* and *social care* are accessible to those most in need.

BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation Launch on the 30th October, 2013

The BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation was launched during a press conference that was addressed by John Cassar White, Chairman of Bank of Valletta and Joseph Calleja. Bank of Valletta and Joseph Calleja are the joint founders of the Foundation.

Empowering Malta’s Gifted and Vulnerable: The Objectives of the BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation.

'the gifted youth'

The provision of financial assistance, encouragement and support to exceptionally talented young persons in the field of the performing and visual arts, in order to enable them to realise their full potential.

'the vulnerable child'

The provision of assistance and support to young persons coming from difficult social backgrounds and environments, whose situations are not catered for by existing social support programmes.

Over the Years

The BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation has hosted a series of concerts over the years, with performances by the renowned tenor Joseph Calleja, alongside world-class artists. These concerts are typically held in iconic venues across Malta, such as the Granaries in Floriana. Each event not only showcases exceptional musical talent but also raises funds to support the Foundation's causes. These performances have become a significant cultural highlight in Malta, attracting both local and international audiences, and reinforcing the Foundation's mission to nurture young talent and assist vulnerable young persons.
